Dr. Siby Abraham

Dr. Siby Abraham is a seasoned academic with around 30 years of expertise in Artificial Intelligence, including Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Generative AI and Agentic AI.
His academic foundation lies in computational, mathematical, and statistical disciplines, with extensive teaching experience across Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science and Business Analytics for students from science, technology, management, and humanities backgrounds. He has contributed significantly to curriculum design of these domains and the development of interdisciplinary programs like Business Analytics, Applied Statistics, and Bioinformatics.
He believes that empathy, inclusivity, and trust are essential to creating meaningful and sustainable learning experiences.
Dr. Abraham has published around 50 international research papers, applying AI techniques to challenges in Business, Social Science, Neurodegernative Disorders, Medical images, Bioinformatics, Musicology, Intrusion Detection, Learning Disability, Number Theory, and Linguistics. He serves on the editorial boards of reputed journals, has organised major academic conferences, and delivered over 40 invited talks at national and international forums. His insights have led to practical impact through consulting engagements, particularly in AI-driven business solutions.
He supervises PhD scholars in Computer Science and has mentored over 500 postgraduate research projects in Computer Science, Data Science, and Business Analytics, with a strong focus on connecting cutting-edge AI methods to real-world and societal problems.
Currently, Dr. Siby Abraham serves as Professor of Data Science at the School of Business Management, NMIMS Deemed-to-be University, Mumbai.
Previously, he was an Honorary Visiting Professor of Computer Science at the University of Mumbai for two decades and Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Guru Nanak Khalsa College (Autonomous), Mumbai.
Dr. Siby Abraham holds an MSc in Mathematics from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi, and a PhD in Computer Science in the area of AI from the University of Mumbai.
